Orbi Solutions – the meaning of our name.

Orbis is the Latin word for circle. A circle is quite important in every day life. Just think about the sun, generating energy for all life on earth. Or look at the wheel. After inventing the wheel mankind made great progress.

Orbis temporis is the Latin expression for “circle of time”, a year. Our modern society is build on the time the earth turns around the sun. The year always has been an important factor in our ancestors life. In spring the farmer sows his seeds. He takes care for the crop during the summer. He protects it and wants to learn how to improve the harvest in the autumn. During the winter when the times are harsh, he benefits from all the efforts he has done. The four seasons have completed the year.
In modern times we can handle seasonality in crops much easier: Thanks to transport we are able to bring all products and specialities year-round to all corners of the world.

Orbis terrarum is the Latin expression for circle of land, the world so the say. In modern times we can fly around the globe in just a few days. By the internet the world has become even much smaller ; within some clicks of the mouse we can surf within seconds from California to Australia.

Talking about different worlds other industries or continents can be indicated. Orbi Solutions wants to study what inventions have been implemented in other continents or industries and we want to learn from that. What can we apply in our own area? What can we bring to our customers? Look elsewhere and don’t re-invent the wheel. Translate this knowledge and make progress. That’s our passion.

Orbi Solutions – our history

Orbi Solutions was founded in 2004 by Michèl Kockelkoren. Having worked for 15 years in various management positions in the vegetable seed industry, there was a strong ambition to start a private company to focus on implementation of innovative solutions in the horticultural industry.

The idea for Verdict was already born at that time. Soon we found two strategic partners FST and EID to develop the concept in a close co-makership. Over the past two years we heavily invested in further development of hardware, software, the internal Operations and in a dealer network for Verdict in dedi-cated markets. The result is a professional tool to be able to manage the Cold Chain for the industry.

While we put many efforts to bring Verdict into the market, we currently offer also other products. Those are innovative products itself or the way of marketing is innovative. Please have a look at our website and products and let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
